Saw the film last night with my 12 year old son who had not seen the first three films. A little slow in the beginning but important story and link from first films. McKellen was awesome as Gandalf and once under way the Imax picture and sound system made almost three hours slip by without notice. Dont miss it at the cinema particularly if you enjoyed the first films!

For anyone who has seen the lord of the rings trilogys and enjoyed them, go and see this! As ever ian mckellen is brilliant and the storyline keeps you fully entertained,on edge and absorbed for the entire 169 minutes of it! there is plenty of action and humour too.
