What Can I Possibly Say About This Film In 250 Words?!?

+++++

Groundbreaking. In my opinion this was the best horror film of the nineties. What made this film were the defining cast that nourished this fantastic story line. Jodie Foster (Taxi Driver, Bugsy Malone, Contact & Panic Room), Scott Glen (The Bourne Ultimatum, Training Day & Apocalypse Now), Ted Levine (Shutter Island, American Gangster, Monk, The Hills Have Eyes & Memoirs of A Geisha) & Anthony Hopkins (Meet Joe Black, Thor, The Mask of Zorro & Hannibal) compliment this film so well. Their acting made this film what it was among other things.
The film has an eerie presence that leaves you loving Hannibal no matter his crimes. The psychology behind this master piece utilises the fear in humanity while showing amazing character development. With historic camera work and twists that would make your teeth shiver – you simply can’t go wrong. This film is historic to its industry and for me, is up there in the top ten horror movies of all time.
If not simply because of the fact it shows a cannibal in such a different light or because you are entranced into Clarice Starling’s world or hypnotised by the words of Dr. Hannibal Lecter it will grab you for the use of gore in a unique sense. It’s not thrown at you violently but laid on a silver platter only for you and placed ever so perfectly before you to examine. Afterwards you will be left wonder if you will be “having an old friend for dinner”.
