‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’, the eagerly awaited new Harry Potter film, has arrived.
As Voldemort tightens his grip on the Muggle and wizarding worlds, Hogwarts is no longer the safe place it once was. In ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’, the dangers are no longer outside, they are within the castle itself – and Dumbledore is determined on preparing Harry Potter for the final battle that is fast approaching.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince sees Harry and Dumbledore working together to unlock Voldemort's defences. And to help them, Dumbledore calls upon the services of his old friend and colleague, the well-connected Professor Horace Slughorn – a new character for the new Harry Potter film, played by Jim Broadbent.
The star struck Professor, a retired teacher of magic, is tempted back out of retirement by Harry Potter’s new celebrity status – and is sure to have a few new tricks up his sleeve.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Hogwarts students are under the spell of a very different adversary - teenage hormones. In ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’, the students are growing up fast, and finding themselves increasingly attracted to each other.
Harry is increasingly drawn to Ginny, and so is Dean Thomas. Meanwhile, Lavender Brown has her sights set firmly on Ron – but she hasn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates. And then there’s Hermione, who is simmering with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings to the rest of Hogwarts.
However, as passions run high through Hogwarts, one student remains aloof, and is determined to make his mark - albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead, and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
