JJ Abrams is by far the greatest trekkie fan and hasn't dissapointed at all. Crew are fantastic and hopefully won't suffer the same off screen hatred of the original crew of NCC 1701. Special effects were amazing and well managed, especially the 'lack' of sound in space that is so seldomly used (Serenity among others) Defintely will see it over and over again. Please Mr Abrams, beam us down another.

Great Summer Movie

I have always enjoyed Star Trek but never considered myself a Trekkie. This movie could have been awful depending on how the movie had been cast/directed or written but it ended up being a great summer movie. Keeps your interest, well cast & acted, nice blend of humor and enough tie ins to the TV show and early movies to keep fans happy but not confuse the uninitiated. The best "prologue" I've seen in a long time. Gene Rodenberry would be quite pleased with the end result. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.
