OK-ish!

This is a beautifully acted, "nice" but predictable film. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, apart from the fact that nothing much happens.
It is what I call a "slice of life" film and very emotional for those of us who have been there, done that and got the t-shirt.
All in all, watchable, but not outstanding.

I had heard this was a bit of a flop - both my husband I thought it was a great little film with characters well portrayed. It had a real time-of-life undertone to it that had some wonderfully engaging bittersweet moments (maybe we're just at that critical age in life but it was a joy to watch).
definitely worth a chance

Despite the measly 2 and a half stars on the odeon website my friend and I took a 'risk' and went to watch this film. We are glad we gave it a chance as we both really enjoyed it. A lovely gentle romance, the film is beautifully crafted and both Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson give excellent and believable performances. A nice feel good film that leaves you feeling positive and optimistic without all the usual far-fetched, over repeated mush of many romantic comedies.
