A sign of things to come?

This is an astonishing film - at 2.5 hours I thought it might drag a little, but it is absorbing from the word go and doesn't let go until the final credits. Tahar Rahim puts in an amazing performance in the central role and Jacques Audiard manages the whole piece with style as well as substance. It has possible sequence written all over its ending and comparisons with the Godfather suggest more to come. If there are more films of this quality this year I'll be one happy film goer.
