What´s the plot?
Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin star in ‘It's Complicated’, a comedy about love, divorce and everything in between.

Jane has an amicable relationship with her ex-husband, attorney Jake, who is now married to the much younger Agness.

But when Jane and Jake meet up for their son’s graduation, an innocent meal turns into an affair, and Jane now finds that she is ‘the other woman’.

Also caught up in the situation is Adam, a recent divorcé, who is falling in love with Jane.

So, as love triangles go…’It’s Complicated’.

I have rated this film based on my wife's comments. She enjoyed it from start to finish and laughed out loud on several occasions. I found it pleasant enough but it is not for blokes really - more of a Mills and Boon with comedy, or so I would imagine.

Well, this was my friend's choice (I thought the trailer looked awful!) but I actually laughed so much - and when I wasn't laughing, I was cringing with embarrassment for the characters on screen! Really funny, worth watching if you need a good giggle.

Not a Five star rating but only because very few films deserve such a score. This was most definitely a well deserved Four stars. The title says It's Complicated but the plot certainly isn't. That, however, is not the point. The point is, it should make you laugh. If this doesn't, then you need professional help. This film is straightforward, accessible and fun. Just for once, Steve Martin shows a lighter, softer, less "in your face" side to his acting ability. This works perfectly with this script. Meryl Streep is truly yummy as the sexy older woman confused by her desires, while Alec Baldwin's character seems to have lurched straight out of a dating website for mid-life-crisis men whose wives "don't understand them". I won't reveal any of the punchlines but, rest assured, this is worth a viewing, preferably with someone really special sitting next to you. Enjoy.
