What´s the plot?

Director Stephen Frears brings to life The Guardian’s famous comic strip character ‘Tamara Drewe’.

Gemma Arterton stars as Tamara, the glamorous newspaper columnist, whose past catches up with her when she returns home and meets an old flame. Now, with a rock-star boyfriend back in London, Tamara finds herself caught up in a love triangle and becomes the focus of gossip for the local villagers.

We went to watch this film with high expectations and came out thoroughly disappointed! There was absolutely no structure to the story, the character development was pitiful, and the whole thing was stereotyped.

How this can be compared to Four Weddings as the "best" British comedy ever we cannot understand. I really think those who think it's funny should watch some proper comedy!!

Absolutely brilliant! Spent the whole time laughing my head off and gasping at the outrageous jokes. A really brilliant film to see with friends, I'll be buying it on DVD the minute it comes out. Loved how english it was. Not a single bloody or confusing action scene, just the way a girly film should be... but better!

A very funny film. I loved it. Excellent cast. Brilliant performances from Tamsin Greig and Roger Allam particularly. More of Tamsin in future please. We don't see enough of her.
