What's the plot?

Adapted from Michael Lewis' best-seller, ‘Moneyball’ stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, General Manager of Oakland A’s baseball team, who hits a sensational home run when he starts to use computer analysis to select a winning team.

Based on real events, the film charts his team’s success as his controversial tactics, more at home on Wall Street than in the Major League, upset the baseball establishment whilst propelling his team up the league.

Directed by Bennett Miller (Capote, The Cruise), ‘Moneyball’ also stars Robin Wright and Jonah Hill.

I enjoyed this film very much, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill play 2 great parts and act them out very well, the storyline is very good and well thought out, however, if you haven't watched the trailer and don't know what the film is about, It's about Baseball! Which doesn't really get played in the UK so people don't know that much about it, the film explains it quite well but if you had a better understanding of baseball I am pretty sure you would get a better understanding of the film, putting that aside though the film is very enjoyable and worth going to see!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, although I am not entirely sure it'll work well with English audiences due to the hefty amount of baseball knowledge required to get the most out of the film. However, if you do like baseball, Moneyball is a gripping account of Oakland's brief flirtation with success in the early 21st century. The dialogue in particular here is of great merit (no surprise with Aaron Sorkin involved) and Pitt gives a convincing performance as the enigmatic Oakland GM, Billy Beane. In summary, Moneyball hits it out of the park.
