‘The Iron Lady’, starring Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher, tells the story of how the country’s first female PM broke through traditional barriers to succeed in a male-dominated political world.
With power never coming without a price, this compelling biopic takes us behind the scenes of 10 Downing St and Parliament to examine the cost she paid in terms of relationships and happiness in an intimate portrait of a one of the most controversial leaders in recent UK history.
Contains real images of moderate violence, injury detail and brief nudity.

Good movie
Mixed Feelings!
Baroness Thatcher may not have been everyone's favourite person but she made a huge impact politically, not least as the first (and only!) female Prime Minister we have had in Great Britain. She rose from humble beginnings and led the country bravely, virtually single-handedly and then, she was 'dumped' most ignominiously by those (men)who didn't have the guts to take on the role of Prime Minister when she did.
My feeling is that:
1)No film of this nature should have been made while Maggie is still alive
2)It would have been a far more enjoyable film if a fairer balance of Maggie 'then and now' was portrayed so that the contrast was evident for all
That said, Meryl was stunning in her portrayal and I am sure she will receive an Oscar for her excellent performance.
Outstanding
