Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name, touching drama ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ follows Oskar (Thomas Horn), a young boy struggling to come to terms with his father’s death in the 9/11 tragedy.

After finding a mysterious key that belonged to him, he sets out on a journey to find the lock it opens; one that takes into the lives of various New Yorkers who all have different stories of survival.

‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ also stars Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock.

I've seen this on a Saturday afternoon. This is one of the very few best films I have seen in years! Extremely good acting, incredibly emotional. The world seen by a boy with Asperger Syndrom. Nominated to Oscar. Great acting of Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks. I found myself in there as my boy reminds me the boy from the film. Beautiful experience! 11/10 Extremely highly recommended.

As one who lost friends in the Sept 11 attacks, I worried that this movie might be insensitive or cheesy, somehow openning still-raw wounds to champion a Team America message. I am delighted to report that ELIC is an original and brilliantly-told story that held my attention throughout and really inspired the imagination. Given the subject matter, however, you might wish to bring some tissue with you!
