In romance drama ‘The Artist’, George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is a world-famous silent movie superstar.
However, his illustrious career looks set to come to an abrupt end when talking pictures arrive, changing the face of cinema forever. At the same, Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo), a struggling young dancer, is catapulted into stardom thanks to her natural ability for the new medium.
Filmed in black and white, without dialogue, ‘The Artist’ tells the story of what happens when they meet and share their dreams and ambitions.

it was ok.
An outstanding moving tribute to the early moviemakers
It is a movie that is lovingly put together, brilliantly acted by all the characters involved , and one to savour and watch again and again.
It demonstrates what a good director can do with a good story, a fantastic cast, and all without a word of dialogue uttered throughout most of the film.
As a trip back through the early days of a nascent film industry, that was changing rapidly, it is a must for any movie buff and cinemagoer with an appreciation of the art of filmmaking.

Personal Record Breaker
It must surely be a most courageous act by Michel Hazanavicius and Jean Dujardin, to name just 2, to do a concept of a silent movie and achieve what they got at the end of the day! But well done to EVERYONE in this movie. I still intend to watch it for the 16th time.....
