Documentary ‘West of Memphis’ examines a tragic miscarriage of justice that saw three American teenagers spend 18 years each in jail for a crime they didn’t commit.
Following the 1993 murder of three eight year old boys in a small Arkansas town, a flawed police investigation sent the three to prison and one of them, Damien Echols, to death row. After a protracted David-and-Goliath legal battle, they were finally freed. To tell their story, Echols went on to produce ‘West of Memphis’ along with award-winning filmmaker Amy Berg.
Contains strong language, references to sexual violence & gruesome images.
