Sticking to the tripping feel of Carroll's novel, Burton creates the Wonderland world stunningly. However, changing the much-loved plot to one about the mispronounced Jabberwocky (in the poem it is called the Jabberwock, the title is with a 'y' but the creature is without) detracts from Carroll's vision of the peculiar world through the rabbit hole. With a string of voice and live cameos, Wonderland is full to the rafters with stars. But suffers from a plot without emotion or relevance to the book, and which strangles the much-beloved story of old with its modern, dry, badly-acted exercise in animation. Depp acts half-heatedly, and the white rabbit never even says, "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date..." Bonham Carter acts well as the queen, bringing her twisted acting to the character with panache. But the rest of the cast seem to agree that the script is badly in need of having its original features restored to it, and seem reluctant to take part. Poor script, badly ripped off from the book, badly acted most of the time - poor.

When I first heard about this film being made by Tim Burton I thought it was going to be brilliant, but I have been wrong before.
I don't care if it was supposed to be like the book or not, it was just a daft film that wasn't clever, or gripping or anything! It was just a dull and pointless excuse for a film. The only thing good to come from it was Matt Lucas as Tweedle dum and Tweedle dee which was quite amusing. I was expecting something from Depp as the hatter and he didnt deliver either. It was a film of utter randomness that never really go anywhere. No empathy towards characters no particular interest in the outcome, at least the disney version had a few funny songs and made you laugh. It was like they took that version and made it serious for sum stupid reason. I can honestly say I could make a more entertaining film out of alice in wonderland. Me and some friends from college made a short film about a very dark twisted version of alice which was great, i would have loved to have seem something like that. Instead we got a pointless film that I will probably forget after writing all this.

not as good as it could of been

Even thoough this movie wasnt the amazing incredible wow movie i had hoped it was still a very enjoyable movie. The cast was a good combination i love johnny depp anyway though so any movie he is in will make me smile and i think without him it wouldnt of been that good. I like the movie though and do reccomend it. X
