3 and a half stars - not so amazing for Scorsese

The main plot line of Ted Jones and his partner investigating a missing case at a mental institution really offers to deliver the goods and attract all audiences, as it did I, never mind that Martin Scorsese is the master behind it. The film moves straight into the left field without out a single recognition of the previous lives for the main characters will gives the audience a desperation for what is to come. The whole story itself is quite well told, with of course exceptional acting from Leonardo DiCaprio but along the lines very confusing and unfortunately not taught as well as I would of hoped. The genre of 'Gothic Horror' really exceeded my expectations by adding in very jumpy and often frightening scenes. It is a 'good' film worthed to be checked out by all sorts. But by the director of 'The Departed' and 'Taxi Driver' this maybe a few needles short of a haystack.
