I entered the cinema curious if slightly wary. I was concerned about the casting choice as opting for a predominantly American cast seemed like a missed opportunity in the making of a film about British history. The cast was nonetheless a good one, and I enjoyed the book it was based on.
It was well worth the cinema visit. I thought it was filmed beautifully, the costumes were stunning, and it was not over-dramatised with crazy effects or OTT music. Instead it just told the story, a dramatic one, in an honest, relatively straightforward way. I may well go and see it a second time.
