‘Shutter’ is the story of Benjamin (Joshua Jackson – Dawson’s Creek) and Jane - newlyweds who have just recently suffered a horrific car crash. Although they weren’t harmed, they develop photos and start seeing strange apparitions in their images. Soon they begin to discover these images are tied in with suspicious deaths that are going unsolved, and see a frightening image in one of their own recent pictures.

Hollywood take on Japanese Horror

If you liked The Ring or The Grudge (Hollywood versions) you'll like this. It's one of the better made films in this genre as normally Hollywood get these totally wrong, but, for this film they kept some of the Japanese directors / producers which makes it slightly better than the normal remakes. Slow burning and creepy I suppose is the most obvious description. Nothing too scary although some moments, especially the most strobing sequence was quite good. Actors are ok and some of the scenes are well filmed and thought out. Overall I would go and see this if you like Hollywood adaptations of Japanese horror, but, if you get the chance go and see the original.
A small town is taken over by a group of blood thirsty creatures after a freak storm, leaving a group of citizens held up in a supermarket fighting for their lives.
