Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) is a thirty-nine-year-old who still lives with his divorced mother. Dale Doback (John C. Reilly) is a forty-year-old who lives with his widower father. Both sons are spoilt rotten, but all that changes when their parents marry each other and the boys have to live in the same room as stepbrothers.
As their lives suddenly change they have to try and grow up fast, and they’re not too happy about it. Chaos between them ensues, followed by practical joking to ridiculously funny limits.

to much talkin in this film... good idea but the action is missed... for example instead of showing someone stealing his painting its... "oh no... someone stole my painting... blah blah blah"
Funny scene with the robbery gone wrong, but other than that i was left very unsatisfied!

Very unjoyable... a little over the top and unreal, but hey... its more like a sunday afternoon film.
Good fun but nothing special

Step brothers is a funny movie with some good laugh out loud moments like with the kids at the end when they're both sleepwalking and are looking for a job with some great acting, but all in all it was a bit silly some times as well seeming a bit over the top and the plot was very unrealistic making it a bit ridiculous and for parts of the film it did feel to me as though as it was losing its pace with the number of laughs. Definitely not as funny as Tropic Thunder with really nothing special with it, but it was still good fun and is worth seeing.
Comedy starring Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott as best friends who avoid a jail sentence by volunteering for community service. But the task they are set makes jail seem like the easy option.
