1 star!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Billed as the first real pairing of the two best method actors in Holloywood. Very nice, concise and appealing, oooh its the stuff franchises are made of, dont you think?

Well obviously some of the increasingly cynical execs in Hollywood seem to think. As I cannot think of any other reason as to why this utter catastrophy of a film would have otherwise been produced. Dont get me wrong, I can happily sit through a bad film, particularly if it has that bad 'quality' about it - so bad its actually quite entertaining (Russ Meyer, etc). However, this film is so bogged down by self indulgent performances, cliche and a miserable tone that it is unwatchable.

Amongst the plethora of flaws this film has the major one would probably be the script, particularly in relation the 'big twist'. Dont worry, I wont spoil the end (if you sadistically yearn to sit through this), but the film for some odd reason decides to sacrifice suspense and tension, essential for a thriller, so that the rug can be swept from beneath your naive little eyes. Oooh, things arent what they seeeeeem. But by that point you couldnt care less.

Do yourself a favour and watch any De Niro Pacino film pre 1995. Ah to be in my prime when Hollywood wanted to tell stories rather than produce souless franchise empires. Luckily the reviews for this film have been so bad we probably wont see another 'Righteous Kill'.

Over-rated...

A truly over rated movie... I love both actors and I believe that they have a long history of films which go unchallenged by many others. However, this movie was over rated.

I felt as if those making the film thought that they needed to compensate for the aging actors by including unnecessarliy gross sexual content and ridiculous amounts of swearing.

The storyline literally fell apart at the end, with the over-kill in swearing, sex and more swearing, the directors appeared to have lost their way.

It is a real shame, considering the calaber of actors used and the not-too-shabby concept.

A Little dissapointing!!

I was really looking forward to watching this film when i read the reviews, but can't say they followed up!?
The story line was brilliant, but also kind of predictable. Great acting from De'Niro even as he reaches his old age he still never dissapoints!
Also, the twist i thought was a little mood killing.
