Set in London in 1818, ‘Bright Star’ tells the story of a secret love affair between 23-year-old English poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne – an outspoken student of high fashion.
At first Keats dismisses Fanny as a stylish minx, while she is suitably unimpressed with his literary endeavours. However, Keats is drawn to Fanny when she offers to nurse his seriously ill brother, and she soon asks him to teach her about poetry.
Soon the unlikely couple embark on a passionate, intense affair that blossoms against all odds. However, when Keats himself falls ill, even their love cannot keep them together.
If you liked ‘Atonement’ or ‘Creation’, you’ll love ‘Bright Star’.
Contains infrequent mild sex references and one suicide reference..
