I took my 12 year old daughter to see this film with six of her friends (all girls). We saw it at the Imax in London, it was brilliant. Maybe seeing it on a huge screen and all the special sound effects made it better, who knows, but all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The race at the end was really exciting and the twist of the identity of his brother was cool, We all loved the chimp and the young brother - excellent acting from them both. I would thoroughly recommend viewing it.

To be honest i didn't know what to expect when seeing the film. We decided to go and see Speed Racer as we had all seen Indiana Jones last week. Just so you know im not just an old man complaining we went as a student, and oap and two children. The oap didn't think much of it, i was bored stiff, nearly fell asleep twice it was that bad. And the two people you would expect to enjoy it aged 8 and 12 were both bored to death. The youngest couldn't sit still kept asking when it would finish. The elder tried to sleep at least once too, and both came out saying how bad the film was and couldn't wait to get home.
Overall a very poor film, way too much talking and too little action and racing considering that is what the film is about. I would seriously recommend staying at home and watching Transformers on dvd it would be much more watchable than Speed Racer.

Superb multi media experience

fantastic visual effects, great music, some stonking performances and an incredible almost 3D feel to the whole experience. What's not to like? A real boys' movie - not to be viewed with even a hint of a migraine. But worth your time - it's gorgeous, like the classic Tron but with more of a plot
