Exceptional

After becoming a huge fan of the musical I was concerned that the film would not do justice to the stage version, however I felt it transcended onto the big screen with huge success. The story was told with an earthiness and sometimes raw feel to it,and the actors seemed to really go the extra mile with performances that captivated the very essence of the time and subject matter. The music is simply inspiring and one is left humming or singing the various songs days after the watching the film. In summing up I would say brilliantly directed, photographed, acted and produced ,definitely not to be missed.
