Combining live footage with a stunning new animation technique using 1000s of photographs, ‘American: The Bill Hicks Story’ gives audiences a unique view into the world of a great iconoclast, whose work still resonates today.

...this is one of the best documentary films I've ever seen. Not just because it is dedicated to the greatest comdeian/ prophet of all time but because it is executed with such brilliance and genuine love for Bill Hicks. There is so much in this film but the footage is exceptional, to see photos and videos of Bill that would never have been seen...and th entire thing is accompanied by Bill's music and comedy, so the whole thing is very funny, sad and beautiful...and all on a big screen!
