What´s the plot?
Starring Tom Cruise, ‘Valkyrie’ tells the true story of the attempt to assassinate Hitler during WWII.

After being wounded in Africa, German Colonel Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg (Cruise) returns to Nazi Germany and, with Hitler’s approval, conceives a shadow government to take over in the event of the Führer's death.

However, the Colonel joins the German Resistance and becomes part of a plot to assassinate Hitler, form a new government and make peace with the Allies.

I wasn't really too keen to watch this film and I think I may have been proved right. There is a good action scene at the beginning when we see how Tom Cruise loses his eye - not a spoiler as all the posters show him wearing a patch.
As for Cruise, his acting was it's usual tepid affair, and as for the story, well, we all know that Adolf wasn't assassinated so we know from the beginning that the attempt made by Tom and his gang wasn't going to work. Not bad though

Bryan Singer is usually better at establishing characters (usual suspects, X-Men) because you don't find out much about them in this....
Still very good though and its obviously worth knowing that it happened.
