High school student Percy Jackson is in a bit of bother… with the gods of Mount Olympus. So much so, that they step out of his Greek mythology textbooks and into his life. It seems that someone has stolen Zeus' lightning bolt and Percy is the prime suspect.
As Percy adapts to his status as a demi-god, he and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy's mum, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.

One word - AWFUL!

I can't believe the number of 4 and 5 stars this film got - it it sheer stupidity and has nothing on films like Harry Potter or Narnia. It may be appealing for kids under say 13 but anyone over that age will be very dissappointed. The humour is beyond dull with every other word being yo man or something similar from the very sad sidekick "protector". They have taken bits from movies like clash of the titans and totally destroyed them. The main chracter does not have much problem in accepting his fate as a demi-god in fact he's pretty much up and running within 5 minutes of finding out! Take your kids to see Sorcerer's Apprentice instead - way better!
