What´s the plot?

The stage musical, 'Mamma Mia!' hits the big screen.

Meryl Streep leads an all-star cast in the feature-film adaptation of the beloved musical, bringing the timeless lyrics and melodies of iconic super group ABBA to cinema audiences.

‘Mamma Mia’ is the story of Donna (Streep) who is about to attend the wedding of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited daughter she's raised alone. For Sophie's wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends - practical and no-nonsense Rosie (Julie Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski) - from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos. But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own.

Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper join Streep in this celebration of a mother, a daughter and three possible dads.

‘Mamma Mia’ the stage musical was a massive hit around the world, and this is a great opportunity to see a brilliant performance brought to the big screen.

SUPERFICIAL AND EMBARASSING

++---
Reviewer: PETER

Despite misgivings went to see this along with my wife who was equally appalled. The storyline is flimsy to say the least and the "singing" of Piers Brosnan caused the audience - and quite rightly - to laugh in embarassment.
Not that there was anything to laugh at... Both Julie Walters and PB seemed hopelessly miscast and Meryl Streep just about got away with it - at least her voice was reasonable.
The way in which song after song are mercilessly dragged in with virtually no reason at all is "cringeworthy" and reminded me of old Cliff Richard movies (- which seemed OK in the 60s..).
Finally, the very thought of going again as many seem to wish to do would be a punishment too awful to contemplate.

ok if you have no high movie standard

why are people still seeing this pile of rubbish?

Its is RUbbish!!!

progressively gets worse. People with NO high movie standards might like it or if you love abba of course?? But no one who knows what a truly great film is will like this...

The acting / singing etc all terrible. Chessy and no plot!
