good idea with bad implementation

I've found the idea of the movie very interesting, but the implementation of the idea was quite poor. There were a lot of boring moments which could have been made shorter and a better and more attractive actress could be found for the main role. In the end they went a bit non-realistic.

This movie seems to be the latest in a string of mediocre Hollywood productions that are plaguing English cinemas of late. Deception's twist is about as unexpected as the credit crunch. To add insult to injury, the pace was so slow that the only true deception was the (very) hopeful expectation of a more interesting plot..
The only positives were Hugh Jackman who put in a good performance but having said that, Ewan McGregor’s American accent was about as believable as Dick van Dyke.

Watch out.
This film looks good on the trailer - it promises action, deep secrets, the mysterious "List", et al.
I think the "list" was brought up maybe.. 3 times? None of them explained what it was really all about. The big conspiracy is actually just one guy, a conman who tricks people into doing some dirty work for him. There was really only one count of deception, and it was all really just a typical "Bad guy cons good guy, good guy tricks bad guy" story. The action was weak, the plot was weak, and some of the acting wasn't that great. The ending was predictable and didn't really have that much closure.
If you like deception, slick bad guys, stick with swordfish and it's ilk. This film wasn't BAD, but it certainly wasn't good either. Maybe just wait for it to come out on DVD...
