Please see our Contact Us section on the website.

ODEON realise that it's not always convenient to book online.  You can quickly and easily book your cinema tickets. You can use any of the following ways;
· using our fast and efficient Filmline
· in person at our cinema box office (during normal box office hours)

Details can be found on our 'Contact Us' page, the link of which is located on this page.

In the UK we accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro/Switch (UK banks only) Solo, Visa Electron or American Express. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept JCB, Style or Duet cards. If you chose to pay for a booking online or by telephone using a credit or debit card, Bookit Limited (a member of the ODEON group of companies) will process your payment.

ODEON Gift Cards and ODEON Première Club points can also be used online and in cinema.

In addition, you can pay by cash at the cinema.  Unfortunately we do not accept payment by cheque.

At the end of your booking a page will display to provide a confirmation number. Please keep a note of this number, as you will need to bring it along with your card you used to pay when collecting your tickets at the cinema. You will also receive an email to confirm your booking. If the confirmation page does not display, you should check your email system to see if you have been sent the confirmation email.

You can collect your tickets from the Box Office or from the Automatic Ticket Machines in the foyer (selected cinemas only). You must remember to bring the card used during the booking process as this will be required to locate and issue your booking. Please ensure that you arrive well in advance of the performance to allow time to pick up your tickets. If you arrive after the performance has started, admission may be refused to avoid distraction to the guests already seated in the cinema.

For some performances you may be able to choose from all the available seats in that section (eg Standard / Premier) when you enter the auditorium, rather than having to sit in a specific pre-booked seat.

Child - 12 years and under* Available for those from 2 to 12 years. Babes-in-arms under 2 are admitted free of charge. Teen - 13 to 17* Available to those aged between 13 and 17 years of age. Note: Tickets purchased using a student card cannot be transferred to any other individual. Only the barer of the valid student card may use student tickets. The student card will be required for inspection at the ticket check point and any guest in possession of student ticket without an accompanying valid student card, will be required up upgrade, or may be refused entry. Family - Available to any group of 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 or under or 1 adult and 3 children aged 12 or under. To purchase family tickets online, just select one of the "Family" tickets, which will automatically add four tickets at a time to your booking, a family ticket is only available for each specific performance and cannot be split over multiple performances. Family tickets are not available for ODEON Plus or special screenings and can not be used with any other offer or discount. * Proof of age may be required for any discounted tickets. Note that for performances after 7pm, children under 12 may need to be accompanied by an adult. For the types of ID accepted please see the entry "What forms of age related ID are acceptable" below. References to adult above do not have the same meaning as adult for the purposes of the mandatory conditions on the exhibition of films relating to the protection of children from harm as contained in the UK Licensing Act 2003.

12A means that the BBFC have classified the film unsuitable for children under 12. However, they may still watch the film, as long as they are accompanied by someone over 18 at all times during the showing. Advice is given regarding the content of the film and the adult (over 18) must decide if it is appropriate for the accompanying under 12. If you want more information about this or any other film certificates select this link (Opens in new window).

ODEON can only allow admission to films in accordance with the certificate of the film and we are required to check the age of anyone who looks (or we believe may be) underage. If you look younger than the age required for a film you may be asked to provide some ID. Unfortunately we are unable to simply take someones word on their age or the age of someone in their party. This ID must include a photo and ideally should be one of the following: Passport, Photo Driving Licence, Student Card/School Pass with Photo and DOB, ValidateUK card, or age related scheme (such as the UK PASS-Scheme card, Prove-it Portman Card or Citizen Card orn the Irish governments "Age Card").

All guests aged 18 and over will be charged the adult ticket price. Children 12 or under are charged the Child price while young adults between the ages of 13 and 17 can get the Teen rate (except at the BFI IMAX and The Lounge).

In addition, we also offer a student discount to adults aged 18 or over in full time education if they hold a valid form of ID such as NUS, NUS Associate, or ISIC (which must be presented at the Box Office to get the discount).

Tickets purchased using a student card cannot be transferred to any other individual. Only the barer of the valid student card may use student tickets. The student card will be required for inspection at the ticket check point and any guest in possession of student ticket without an accompanying valid student card, will be required up upgrade, or may be refused entry.

We try to accommodate babies as best we can, the majority of our cinemas will admit babies for U, PG or 12A films. We ask that you consider others when bringing your baby to the cinema, if he/she becomes distressed we request that you take them out of the auditorium. For babes in arms under 2 years of age there is no charge, however if the child takes up a seat you will be asked to pay for a child's ticket.

The Orange Wednesday offer is available at all ODEON Cinemas. To get two tickets for the price of one for most performances on Wednesday (only for Standard performances in Standard seating) - just show the code when purchasing your tickets from the Box Office or enter the code on-line.

You can get your code by simply sending the word "Film" as a text message to 241 or calling 241 on your Orange mobile phone and following the instructions. You will then receive a text message containing a unique number.

Terms & Conditions and additional information on Orange Wednesday can be obtained from Orange's website. To visit, please click here.

Whenever a film is released with captions for the hard of hearing we do try to schedule it at our cinemas, however due to the limited number of copies available we are not able to show it at all our cinemas (especially if it the captioned version has already been shown at a nearby cinema). Captioned for hard of hearing and Audio Described performances are listed separately so you can choose these specific performances.

In addition, the "Your Local Cinema" website provides full listings of captioned performances at ODEON and other cinemas. Please click here to go to the Your Local Cinema website (opens in a new window).

If you require a free carer to facilitate your visit to the cinema,  you can register your card within the "My Details" of your online profile and everytime you book, our website will automatically ask you if you need the free carer ticket.

If you need a carer and do not have a CEA card or you have a  large/complicated booking, please call our Accessibility Helpline which can be located on our Contact Us page.

Once your purchase has been confirmed, your seats are held for you until the start of the performance time as published, and will not be sold to another guest. Therefore, payment is required for all confirmed bookings, irrespective of whether the tickets are collected or not. Please note that on occasion entry will be delayed for late arrivals in order to minimise distractions to the already seated audience.

ODEON have one of the most advanced automated telephone service in the UK to give our guests quick access to information or to book tickets 24 hours a day. It uses Speech Recognition technology to speed-up the call, however there are certain situations where it is difficult for the system to recognise short words. If you are trying to select a cinema by just saying the name of a very short town name, the system may experience difficulties. For example, if you are booking for Ayr saying "Ayr" may cause recognition problems, however just saying "ODEON Ayr" or "ODEON Naas" instead will result in success. Noisy environments: If there are problems with loud background noise, the system is designed so that users can change to a touch tone system just by pressing any key on their phone during a call. Alternatively saying "Operator" during the call will transfer you to an ODEON operator who will assist you further.

Yes the systems used are extremely secure. Your online credit/debit card transaction is processed by Bookit, a PCI DSS certified company, which uses various physical and electronic security measures to protect your personal information. Your transaction details are encrypted using SSL (secure socket layer) technology and BookIt Ltd uses highly reputable credit/debit card security software to process your credit/debit card transactions remotely. In addition, Bookit now use "Verfied by Visa" and "Mastercard Securecode" to increase the security around your card details.

We have a large number of different vouchers available, each has different terms and conditions, please check your voucher carefully for validity. At the present time we cannot accept vouchers for over the phone or internet bookings. In these instances bookings must be made in person at the cinema. The only exceptions are ODEON Guest Passes/Tickets, which can be used to book over the telephone (please see the reverse of the guest pass/ticket for details) There will always be a selection of films that your voucher can be used for, but please note that the use of vouchers may be restricted in the first few weeks of the release of a specific film - this is referred to as 'Free Passes Restricted' period. If you wish to check the FPR (free pass restricted films) listed films please select this link (Opens in new window).

Please note that vouchers which only have a UCI logo (ie do not contain an ODEON logo as well) have restrictions on the cinemas which will accept the vouchers - for more information please select the Contact Us link located on this page.

We try to ensure a wide choice of film product, however with Bollywood films in particular there are usually only a few film prints in the country, which we try our best to secure, but unfortunately this it isn't always possible.

Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are products that are offered by Visa and MasterCard in conjunction with the bank who issued your card. Their aim is to make using your card online more secure through the use of your own private password.

During the booking process you may be offered the chance of enrolling in these schemes. Alternatively (or if you experience problems with enrolling within the booking process) you may enrol directly via your banks own web site.

There will always be a selection of films that your voucher/passes can be used for, but please note that their use may be restricted in the first few weeks of the release of a specific film - this is referred to as 'Free Passes Restricted (FPR) period. If you wish to check the latest list of FPR films please click here (Opens in new window). Please check the Terms & Conditions on your voucher/pass before visiting the cinema.

The cinema will also offer a range of exclusive features and services including an on-site concierge desk offering a dedicated cinema booking and film selection service and a private bar area available for pre-cinema drinks and private functions, featuring highly trained waitress staff. Generally the cinema box offices open 15 minutes before the first performance of that day.

If you were given specific row/seat numbers for your original booking please call our Internet Helpline which can be found on our "Contact Us" page, to receive advice on how best to proceed. However, if your original booking did not specify a specific seat/row then you can simply complete a second booking for the additional tickets, as you will be able to choose from all available seats when you enter the auditorium.

For reserved performances you can choose your seats for the whole auditorium, whilst for others, only certain sections of the screen can be selected by seat.

When you select a section of seating, it will either display individual seats where you can click onto the seating plan and select your seats or it will advise you that the section is unreserved and you cannot reserve specific seats.

If your booking is for an unreserved section, you can still choose your seats when you enter the auditorium before the start of the film.

We sometimes have to wait until the film distribution companies fully confirm details about a film before we can put tickets on sale. As soon as we know the films and times they will be displayed on the website - usually this results in the tickets for next week appearing on the website on Tuesday evening or Wednesday afternoon.

Sometimes, due to public demand, tickets can go on sale a few weeks before their release date after agreement with the film distributors. To ensure you are informed about advance sales of key films, you can register with ODEON to receive promotional and weekly film times emails by clicking here.

You can find out about the various certificates by clicking on the Certificate logo next to any film or go to the British Board of Film Classification website (opens in a new window).

ODEON can only allow admission to films in accordance with the certificate the film has been granted by the British Board of Film Classification and we are required to check the age of anyone who looks (or we believe may be) underage. If you look younger than the age required for a film you may be asked to provide some ID. We are unable to simply take someones word on their age or the age of someone in their party.

This ID must include a photo and ideally should be one of the following: Passport, Photo Driving Licence, Student Card/School Pass with Photo and DOB, ValidateUK card, or age related scheme (such as the UK PASS-Scheme card, Prove-it Portman Card or Citizen Card).

In our cinemas, a Student is classified as someone in full time education and holds a valid form of photo ID such as an NUS, NUS Associate, or ISIC card which clearly shows the period of validity.  You must have the ID available for presentation as requested at the cinema.

These are special performances of recently released films which have subtle changes to the cinema environment which mean that people who have sensory difference may have a more positive experience than they would in a traditional cinema setting. Changes include the lights being kept on at a low level, the sound is turned down and there are no trailers or advertisements - just the film.

For more information on these screenings please check our dedicated Autism pages

The student card will be required for inspection at the ticket check point and any guest in possession of student ticket without an accompanying valid student card, will be required up upgrade, or may be refused entry.

E-tickets are a new feature that ODEON has introduced at some cinemas for online bookings. The e-ticket booking confirmation document and the confirmation e-mail now include a 2D barcode (QR code), and this means you don't have to collect your tickets at the cinema box office or ATM.

All you need to do is either print off your booking confirmation or e-mail and bring it with you to the cinema, or be ready to display it on your phone. You show it to our staff at the guest service point so they can scan it and admit you to the screen. It's very easy, but you can still collect your tickets at the cinema box office or ATM if you prefer - just remember to take your card with you (see 3. below).

Just a few things to remember:

  1. If you use a printout, make sure it's clear and legible. (If it's smudged, damaged, crumpled, or faint then we may not be able to use it.)

  2. If your booking is for more than one person, you all need to be together when you present your QR code. (It covers the total booking and can only be scanned once.)

  3. Please bring with you the Credit/Debit card you used to make your booking. If you weren't asked for a Credit/Debit card when booking - don't worry - just bring along the Electronic Gift Card or the ODEON Premiere Club Card you used. (If there is a problem scanning your QR code, your card enables you to collect from the box office or ATM in the traditional way.)

You can use the e-ticket whenever you have made a booking online for any of the available cinemas.

If you have booked more than one ticket and some members of your party do not intend to come to the cinema together, you will need to collect your individual tickets from the ATM or Box Office as the QR code can only be scanned once.

E-tickets are currently available at:

  • ODEON Derby

  • ODEON Liverpool One

  • ODEON Metrocentre

  • ODEON Surrey Quays

How to print your tickets will vary depending on which internet browser or email provider you use. You should use the same route you would normally use to print from your computer. This can normally be found under "file" in your email or web browser navigation. We recommend that you print a copy of the booking confirmation email we will send you. However if this is not possible, you can print off the booking confirmation page when making the booking online.

You can display the e-ticket on your phone by opening up the email booking confirmation we sent you. Please have this ready before you reach the guest service point. Our staff will scan the QR code displayed on your screen, and you may need to scroll down the text.

When you purchase tickets over the internet or telephone, you are entering into 2 agreements:   one with ODEON (who provide the tickets) and another with Bookit (who securely process your credit or debit card transaction).

The Card Handling Fee you pay to Bookit is levied in consideration for Bookit processing your credit/debit card transaction.  The level of the Card Handling Fee has been set to comply with the Consumer Rights (Payment Surcharges) Regulations. The Card Handling Fee is fully disclosed as part of the booking process.

ODEON is committed to working transparently in order to offer guests the best possible cinema experience and a clear booking process.

When you make a remote booking (over the internet or by telephone) a Remote Booking Fee applies to each ticket - so we include this in the upfront ticket cost.

In addition, if you use a credit/debit card to pay for 1 or more tickets in your remote booking, Bookit Ltd will levy a single Card Handling Fee of 21p for processing your credit/ debit card transaction.  We provide details of the Card Handling Fee at the start of the booking process - and then we include this in the cost if you chose to pay using a credit/debit card.

Anyone who does not want to pay the fees can continue to buy their ticket at the cinema – either at the box office or the in-foyer ATM.

ODEON is committed to working transparently in order to offer guests the best possible cinema experience and a clear booking process.

When you make a remote booking (over the internet or by telephone) a Remote Booking Fee applies to each ticket - so we include this in the upfront ticket cost.

Anyone who does not want to pay the fee can continue to buy their ticket at the cinema – either at the box office or the in-foyer ATM.

There is no additional cost for seeing the performance specifically in HFR, other than the usual upgrade costs which apply for 3D, IMAX and ISENSE performances.

‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ will be released on 13th December in multiple formats including 3D, IMAX, IMAX 3D, ISENSE and HFR 3D, HFR IMAX 3D, HFR ISENSE and 2D.

2D performances of the ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ will be programmed and available to book nearer the time of the films release date.

To book tickets to see ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ in non-HFR format, please select this link.

Frame rates are the number of images (frames) displayed by a projector in one second. 24 frames per second (fps) is the current standard in cinemas worldwide. HFR 3D productions of 48 fps record and play visuals at twice the current rate.

HFR 3D has been developed as digital technology.

HFR 3D represents a technological advancement in the motion picture experience providing another option for cinema guests. Peter Jackson is pushing the boundaries of new filmmaking technologies on  ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ and shot the film on HFR 3D, so it is being released in that format in addition to traditional formats.

Yes. The HFR version of ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ will be available in 3D only.

We would love to be able to show this format in every cinema, but unfortunately we do not receive enough HFR copies of the film to play in every cinema. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The Lounge has dedicated event coordinators who would be able to assist in group booking. Please contact TheLoungeEvent@odeonuk.com
