Angelina Jolie's second film as director, 'Unbroken' tells the true story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete turned World War II hero who spent two years in Japanese POW camps. A former Olympic distance runner, Zamperini (Jack O'Connell) enlisted in the United States Air Force, only to find himself shot down and stranded on a raft for 47 days. Eventually picked up by the Japanese, he spent the rest of the war as a prisoner, regularly beaten and abused by his captors. Jolie directs 'Unbroken' from a screenplay by the legendary Coen brothers ('No Country For Old Men').
