About this Film

A Street Cat Named Bob

ODEON says...
James is homeless, a recovering drug addict, and desperate to turn his life around. But he’s also alone and friendless – at least until he meets ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’.

Taking a bath in a house his social worker found for him, he hears someone clattering about in another room. Discovering that it’s just a stray ginger tomcat, James adopts him, names him Bob, and soon finds that having an animal companion makes a huge difference to his life.

‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ is a heartwarming true story based on the book by James Bowen, owner of the real-life Bob.

“ Charming and life-affirming ”

“ Bob’s weapons-grade cuteness is almost enough to power this slight but warm-hearted film ”

“ You’ll need a heart of stone (or an extreme allergy to cats) not to be moved by the combination here of Loach-like realism, Dickensian sentimentality... [and] the big-eyed tabby meowing in the rain ”

Sorry but the film was very disappointing. Loved seeing Bob I have to say. Read all the books and loved each one of them. The film for some reason didn't come up to the books standard. I know everyone loves Bob as I do but this film was average.

Fantastic watch!

Reviewer: A rare film and worth it!!Date: 2016-11-18

Such a beautiful feel good film!! This is what we need for today miserable climate. The film makes us feel for the homeless, and how loyalty and companionship from the cat, gives James a purpose to improve his life, and give him a purpose.

Heart Warming

This film is funny and heart warming without being sickly..it shows some of the reality of homelessness and drugs and the lovely relationship between James and cat Bob in an endearing realistic way. Is a lovely pick me up and I fully recommend it!

Really enjoyed watching this story evolve. Felt so sorry for the guy and so mad at the people who showed total disrespect towards him and Bob the cat. Made you feel good at the end, as I felt I had gone on their journey with them. Wonderful film
