Total Film - 3/5 Stars

Haven’t we been here before?

Based on the 2011 bestselling book by former clinical scientist S.J. Watson, Rowan Joffe’s sophomore movie is every bit as polished-looking as his directorial debut, Brighton Rock, its action lent a sci-fi sheen by antiseptic interiors that gleam like honey.

As with Memento or, played a different way, 50 First Dates, its plot is driven by a protagonist suffering from anterograde amnesia, meaning each day she awakens with her memory wiped clean. It’s a neat enough gimmick that affords the opportunity for suspense, scares and more twists than you can shake a corkscrew at, but the action will evaporate from viewers’ minds within 24 hours.

Read the book

Like most films, they're different from the original book. Great acting but the film felt fairly cheap budget. My friend was bored by it whilst I enjoyed it. Wouldn't bother rushing back to see it again though.

Disappointed

Reviewer: Claire BDate: 2014-09-26

I read the book before i saw the film and i was very disappointed. The film is nothing like the original story, so much detail was left out. If you have read the book i wouldn't bother going to see the film..

Good performances from Firth and Kidman. Bit slow to start with but gets good with a good twist at the end ...you feel understanding to what each person is dealing with on a daily basis. Yep enjoyed it
