About this Film

Dad's Army

ODEON says...
In the darkest days of the Second World War, when Britain stood alone and on the brink of defeat, ‘Dad’s Army’ was the country’s last line of defence.

With the regular soldiers needed at the Front, the British brass created the Home Guard in case the Germans invaded. Sadly, they weren’t exactly the elite force that was probably needed: with the exception of one “stupid boy”, they were mostly old, bumbling and not particularly useful in a fight.

The classic sitcom gets the remake treatment for ‘Dad’s Army’, with an all-star cast including Toby Jones, Bill Nighy and Michael Gambon. Don’t panic!

Loved the film. Superb cast who recreated the characters brilliantly - best was Michael Gambon as Private Godfrey. Simple story, lots of laughs, great entertainment. Lovely relaxed way to spend 90 minutes - go in the mood to be entertained.

Did we see the same film ? Bored rigid. left after 35 minutes. Pitifully flat , turgid. Couldnt be more disappointed.

Did wonder if this would be any good. Well for me it truly was. My dad was a big fan of the series, I am sure he would have loved it. The casting director did a grand job in getting the right actors for the right role. Loved it
