ODEON says...
‘Lion’ tells the extraordinary true story of Saroo Brierley, who was born in India but adopted by an Australian couple after he was separated from his family.

When he was five years old, he got lost on a train travelling away from his home. Years later, living in safety and security in Australia, he yearns to reunite with his family, and decides to use Google Earth to track them down. But his memories are hazy, and it could take years.

Based on Saroo’s book of his experiences, ‘Lion’ is a critically-acclaimed true story that would be almost impossible to believe if it hadn’t actually happened.

“ This big-hearted film does full justice to the horror, the pathos and the drama ”

4 Stars
“ Nicole Kidman's Oscar contender will rip you to pieces ”

4 Stars
“ In one sense it’s epic, capturing an amazing life divided between two very different worlds; but it maintains an intimacy with Saroo that is so engaging, you can’t help but feel lost with him — and also profoundly glad to have found him. ”

Take your hanky, it's a weepie and I'm a middle aged man. Wonderful, emotionally charged movie experience!

I totally loved this film. It was gripping from beginning to end. It is beautifully crafted, the characters are engaging and entice you is quite emotional, mainly at the end (when there was not a dry eye near me!)..this film is absorbing!

Excellent film and a true story. Brave move to have first half of film (in India) in Hindu and sub-titled; but whole film is well acted and with great visual quality - albeit gritty at times. A must see!
