Dark comedy 'Pain & Gain' follows three personal trainers who overstretch themselves when they hatch a get-rich-quick plan to kidnap and hold their rich clients to ransom.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie and based on real life events, the film delves into the shadows of sun-kissed 90s Miami to reveal the dark side of human nature as the muscle-bound trio's crimes become progressively more brutal and bizarre.

Bay does small and personal. With a bang.

Set in 1994, and based on a series of Miami New Times articles, Pain and Gain stars Mark Wahlberg as Danny Lugo, manager of the Miami Sun gym, who’s desperate to live the American dream. He decides to kidnap a wealthy client – shady Colombian-American tycoon Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub) – and extort him. Helping execute the plan are personal trainer Adrian (Anthony Mackie) and ex-con man-mountain Paul (Dwayne Johnson), a recovering addict who has found Jesus….

Mark and Dwayne together really make this film seriously funny. Had me laughing out loud in the cinema on more occassions than I remember. Waited for this film for months and to think these we real events makes you laugh even more at times! 8/10
