FAQ's

What is The Lounge?

The Lounge will be a state of the art luxury cinema boasting five intimate screens, each with no more than 50 fully reclining leather seats and extendable leg rests. The cinema will also offer a range of exclusive features and services including an on-site concierge desk offering a dedicated cinema booking and film selection service and a private bar area available for pre-cinema drinks and private functions, featuring highly trained waitress staff. ODEON Whiteleys will also retain four traditional cinema screens which will be on a separate floor to The Lounge. The Lounge is strictly for over 18's only.

If food and drink can be ordered throughout the screening will this not prove a disturbance to other guests?

We have highly trained waiting staff from restaurant backgrounds to ensure disruption to guests is kept to an absolute minimum. Over and above this, we would encourage all guests to order food and drink during the trailers to ensure it arrives in good time, and to assist us in ensuring a pleasant and quiet environment for other film fans. That said, eating snacks through a film is nothing new and we therefore we don't believe that it will detract from the cinema experience in any way.

How and when will payment be made?

The Lounge payment policy gives guests the option to pay as they place the order or to set up a tab, if they wish to do so, and pay prior to or during the film. This flexibility allows our guests to decide when they pay the bill and interact with the Lounge staff.

If a guest chooses to set up a tab and pay during the film, a member of staff will present the bill at that time. If a guest does not wish to be disturbed during the film he/she has the option to order and pay for any refreshments prior to the start of the film. The benefit of this flexible approach is that the Lounge can process all payments without any delay to our guests.

How will guests that want to eat in the cinema screen go about ordering?

The Lounge bar is ideal to relax and enjoy a cocktail before the show or even a meal if you arrive one hour early. If you arrive just before the film stars, the concept is best enjoyed when placing your main food and drink order during the trailers in the auditorium. Our 'in screen waiter service’ is available throughout the film so more food and drinks can be ordered at any point.

What if I want to order a dessert or additional drinks through the duration of the film?

We will also be accommodating this so you can keep ordering certain items.

Will the private bar be available to all guests to ODEON Whiteleys?

The bar is a private area and as such will only be open to guests in possession of a ticket to see a film at The Lounge.

What is Rowley Leigh's involvement in ODEON Whiteleys?

Rowley Leigh is the Consultant Chef at ODEON Whiteleys - he has devised the finger, fork and spoon menu.

Why were these particular dishes deemed suitable and appropriate for cinema-dining?

Rowley Leigh has categorised the menu into finger, fork and spoon options for ultimate ease when selecting dishes to enjoy screen-side. The finger, fork, spoon concept not only allows guests the opportunity to sample fine food from the comfort of their cinema seat but has also been devised to be enjoyed quietly and with maximum ease. The Lounge's luxury food offerings delivers a selection of exquisite dishes that can be enjoyed with minimum fuss and yet still deliver on the taste and excitement you'd expect from a fine dining establishment.

What are your plans to open further ODEON Lounges?

We're delighted to be trialling our first high-end offering at ODEON Whiteleys. We are confident that this The Lounge concept will be well received by guests which may lead to further luxury offerings at additional ODEON sites - but there are no firm plans to open others at this stage.

Why are there two sets of prices shown on the pricing page?

If you purchase your tickets remotely (via our website, Filmline, Apps or Facebook) there is an additional Remote Booking Fee applied.  ODEON is committed to working transparently in order to offer guests the best possible cinema experience and a clear booking process – so where a Remote Booking Fee is applicable, this will be shown as part of the upfront cost and displayed on our online pricing pages.

If you do not wish to pay the Remote Booking Fee you can still purchase your tickets at the cinema Box Office or ATM where no Remote Booking Fee will apply.

Why do you charge a Remote Booking Fee?

The Remote Booking Fee is a fee for booking your tickets remotely.  It is payable in addition to the price of your tickets.  The amount of the Remote Booking Fee will be displayed during the booking process. To assist you in understanding the amount payable, we will display headline ticket price inclusive of the Remote Booking Fee. We do not levy a Remote Booking Fee for tickets booked at cinema at the Box Office or ATM.
