We Are Parable present "Top Five" in partnership with ODEON Cinema

As part of a new series of events in partnership with ODEON Cinemas, We Are Parable present a screening of Top Five.

Written, directed and starring Chris Rock, Top Five follows a day in the life of Hollywood actor and recovering alcoholic Andre Allen (Rock), as seen through the eyes of Chelsea (played by Rosario Dawson), a reporter who’s been tasked with writing a piece about him. As part hey share their “Top Five” rappers and realise they may have more in common with each other than they first realised.

A sharp, witty film, this is a career best performance from Chris Rock and is one not to be missed on the big screen.

Big Picture Film Club presents "Us" in partnership with ODEON Cinema

As part of a new series of events in partnership with ODEON Cinemas, Big Picture Film Club presents a screening of Us.

Accompanied by her husband (Winston Duke), son (Evan Alex) and daughter (Shahadi Wright Joseph), Adelaide Wilson (Lupita Nyong'o) returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival.

When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them.

It started out as an intention to screen their favourite film in their local cinema. Seven years later, this husband and wife team have created a legacy of cinematic  events that focus on creating unique experiences for Black audiences.

We Are Parable is an award winning film exhibition company that provides audiences around the UK with opportunities to experience Black Cinema in culturally relevant, memorable and unique ways. Formed in 2013 by husband and wife team Anthony and Teanne Andrews, they have worked with Disney, the British Film Institute, StudioCanal, Altitude, as well as filmmakers such as Ryan Coogler, Idris Elba, Amma Asante and Academy Award winner Spike Lee.

We Are Parable are dedicated to creating events that celebrate Black stories nationwide with events that engage and entertain in meaningful ways for audiences.

The conversation starter, Big Picture Film Club is the hub for the everyday film lover who craves something deeper than just film. At our core, we value significant discussions about the world of film and the cultural impact it has on society.

With original and meaningful content in news, reviews, editorials & interviews, we strive to go beyond the mainstream to give you the bigger picture.
