ODEON says...

Winston Churchill was no-one’s first choice for Prime Minister. But in Great Britain’s ‘Darkest Hour’, through his refusal to surrender and determination to fight on, he became their last hope.

Within days of his appointment, the Nazi forces had surrounded the British and French armies and were on the brink of annihilating them. Facing almost certain defeat, Churchill was forced to rally the nation and convince his colleagues to continue the desperate fight for their freedom, against any odds.

Gary Oldman stars as Winston Churchill in ‘Darkest Hour’, a critically-acclaimed biopic that features one of his finest performances.

Amazing film. Acting is superb, especially Gary Oldman, and the cinematography is fantastic. So evocative and moving.

Despite there being little action, this film is tremendous. You may need a hankie by the end mind.

Darkest Hoir

Reviewer: Mr JohnDate: 2018-01-17

An absolute riveting film. Setting out the turmoil and scheming at a time of national emergency. Oldman is absolute class. A must see film.

Reviewer: RobDDate: 2018-01-15

An intelligent film with, as always, a first-rate performance by Oldman. Historically pretty accurate (Churchill was NOT a popular choice at first and Chamberlain's ultimate support was crucial in swinging the Tories behind him). Very good.
