Diverse Cinema

We are proud to bring powerful stories to the big screen, where they belong.

In collaboration with our incredible exhibition partners The New Black Film CollectiveWe Are Parable and Big Picture Film Club, we're proud to use the power of the big screen to tell the stories of the Black, Asian and minority ethnic experience, both past and present.

Together, we are supporting diverse filmmakers, directors and acting talent from around the globe, offering them a platform to inspire and educate through their work.

We will be screening films that explore all aspects of life and culture, from the UK and around the globe.

ODEON. We are film for everyone.

Join us on 22 & 23 June for our next Diverse Cinema screening, of classics Babylon and Beverly Hills Cop.

Babylon Film Still 1989

22 june

Babylon follows the story of Blue (Brinsley Forde), a working class musician and black man in 1980s South West London. By day he works as a mechanic, at night he's a mic controller at a local dance hall.

The movie captures the trials and tribulations of young black youths in troubled London in the early eighties, and is a must-see movie for lovers of Diverse Cinema.

Beverly Hills Cop Film Still

Beverly Hills cop

23 june

This iconic 1984 classic sees Eddie Murphy take the lead as freewheeling Detroit cop Axel Murphy.

Axel finds himself pursuing a murder investigation outside of his jurisdiction whilst dealing with the very different culture of the Beverly Hills Police Service.

This crime comedy spanned to an entire series and has become one of the most popular 'buddy cop' films of all time.

Enjoy an exclusive recorded Q&A with John Ashton who plays Sergeant John Taggart after the movie.

We can’t wait to bring more powerful stories to the big screen, where they belong.

Keep an eye on this page for announcements of future screenings, or sign up to myODEON and we’ll let you know when you can book tickets.
