About this Film

Last Christmas

ODEON says...
Kate harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop.

Tom seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate's barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two.

But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart... and you gotta have faith.

Walked out

Reviewer: AliasAgainDate: 2019-11-21

Unsolicitated Anti-Brexit sentiment I have never walked out of a movie before, but this movie was helbent on making a ''progressive-liberal'' political statement statement. Emelia plays the 21st century western slut who in her fading years finally realises that having something stable is actually better you. The ''good guy'' is left having to fix the mess she made of her life. And of course, no movie nowadays is incomplete with plenty of inter-racial relationships, because dating a white guy is somehow racist these days. Oh and I almost forget the female police officers, because we needed a good dose of feminism in it too. This would have been nice film had it not been for the ''progressiveness'' that was almost religiously pushed throughout the narrative. Summary: Unsolicitated Anti-Brexit sentiment

Delightful

Reviewer: BC05Date: 2019-11-19

Some of the advance reviews were lukewarm, or patronising - ignore them! I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's Christmassy in spades, charming, delightful, & thoughtful & left me with a warm glow inside for the rest of the evening.

Loved it

Reviewer: Grumpy old manDate: 2019-11-19

It's a sweet Christmas movie with an ending I didn't expect, although I should have if I'd thought about it. Emilia Clarke handles it well, and Emma Thompson shows her versatility with a brilliantly comic performance. Well worth seeing.
