About this Film

ODEON says...
John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle TENET.

Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.

Not time travel. Inversion.

The international cast of TENET also includes Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, with Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.

Tenet or tedium

Reviewer: popladdyDate: 2020-09-21

Thought i would enjoy this as i really enjoyed Inception. That was my first mistake. Soundtrack started off very loud but muffled, it did get a bit better as i managed to doze off about 20minutes in. Nothing really stands out for me to praise it.

Love the concept and the story. Lead actor is bland. Sound mix was awful. The sound effects are loud enough to be painful and the dialogue a mumbling mess. I look forward to buying this on Blu-Ray so I can turn on subititles and limit dynamic range.

Thrilling genius

Reviewer: Samuel Abel Date: 2020-09-13

The film is a non-stop thrill. It's premise - that objects and people can be 'inverted' so that they move backwards in time not forwards- makes for huge dazzling visual spectacles including car chases and fighting scenes. Jarring music, sweeping camera shots and erratic editing all add to this feel. However, the screenplay is the ultimate selling point. Centring around a cold war esque spy-film plot line, the added dimension of moving back and forward in time makes for an initially bewildering plot. However, a closer look reveals a genius, highly-intricate plot which greatly rewards a second viewing.

Kinda good!

Personally the first time I saw Tenet I was pretty confused and not very confident with what I understood from it, I feel like I'll need to see it another time to understand it better. But honestly I think it's worth a try!
