These measures will be in place in our cinemas for your safety, well being and enjoyment.

Please check the different rules applying to our cinemas in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland from July 19.

ENGLAND

Following government guidelines, social distancing measures are being relaxed at our sites in England. Face masks are now optional, please respect others’ decisions. Enhanced cleaning and sanitisation protocols remain in place, and we recommend contactless payments where possible.

Social distancing will be removed from showings from 19 July. Please note that if you have booked a ticket in advance, social distancing protocols have now been removed from this showing. You may be seated directly next to another guest.

 


 

SCOTLAND & WALES

Following government guidelines, social distancing measures are being relaxed at our sites in Scotland & Wales. Face masks are still mandatory - please read our detailed guidance here. Enhanced cleaning and sanitisation protocols remain in place, and we recommend contactless payments where possible.

Social distancing will be removed from showings from 9 August. Please note that if you have booked a ticket in advance, social distancing protocols have now been removed from this showing. You may be seated directly next to another guest. 

Enhanced cleaning throughout

  • We’ll have more frequent and more thorough cleaning routines throughout the cinema, with extra controls in all toilet facilities.
  • Stations offering sanitising gels and wipes with our compliments will be available at allocated points.
  • All cinema teams have been trained on the new safety and hygiene measures.

Safer buying

  • We recommend you book online for a contactless experience and pay by card or contactless in cinema where possible to help you buy safer.
  • We’re also offering a range of pre-packaged food and drinks, with contactless till payments.

NORTHERN IRELAND

Household mixing: When booking tickets, please follow government guidelines on household mixing.

  • Northern Ireland: Up to 10 people can meet indoors from three households

Our colleagues will be equipped with personal protective equipment, including face coverings and gloves. We have more frequent and thorough cleaning routines throughout the cinema, with extra controls in all toilet facilities.

We recommend you book online for a contactless experience with all ticket checks conducted visually only. We will no longer be accepting cash, but we have increased our contactless limit to help you buy safer.

Social distancing

  • We’re limiting the number of seats for sale for each film and guaranteeing unoccupied seats between parties to meet social distancing requirements.
  • We’re staggering the show start times to reduce queues and operating safe queuing measures with floor markings and cinema host support.

Face covering in cinemas

  • Please wear a suitable face covering when you visit our cinemas, in line with government guidelines.
  • When seated in the auditorium you will be socially distant from other guests, and you may remove your face covering to enjoy food and drinks.
  • Within our Costa outlets, you may remove your face covering to eat and drink once you are seated and socially distant from other guests.
  • Colleagues will be equipped with personal protective equipment - including face coverings and gloves.

How we’re supporting NHS Test & Trace

In England, anyone 16 and over is encouraged to leave their contact details to support the NHS Test and Trace system. The fastest way to do this is for everyone in your party to download the NHS Test and Trace app now, and then simply check in when you arrive at the cinema. 

In Scotland, the lead member of the attending group (if aged 12 and over) is asked to leave their contact details to support the Test & Protect system. The fastest way to do this is to download the Test & Protect App now, and then simply check in when you arrive at the cinema.

In Wales, anyone 16 and over is encouraged to leave their contact details to support the Test, Trace, Protect programme by completing a form at the cinema. You may also check in via the NHS app.

In Northern Ireland, anyone aged 16 and over is asked to leave their contact details to support the Test, Trace, Protect system. The fastest way to do this is for everyone in your party to download the StopCOVID NI app now, and then simply check in when you arrive at the cinema.


When you arrive at the cinema

1. When you visit your local ODEON, please observe social distancing where the rule applies and avoid waiting around in public areas unless in a queue.

2. Please wash your hands when appropriate and use our sanitising stations with our compliments.

3. Please be at your auditorium in good time for your scheduled start time and have your tickets ready for visual inspection.

4. We have strict guidelines for any of our colleagues who may begin to show early symptoms to stay away from the cinema. We would welcome all of our guests to do the same and stay home if they feel unwell.

5. Please follow government guidelines with regards to wearing face coverings.

6. When booking tickets for a group, please follow local government guidelines with regards to social distancing.
